Manuscript Evaluation - Is It Any Good?

Wouldn’t it be great to hire a trusted book publishing professional book editor who has
been evaluating manuscripts for 20+ years to provide that unbiased evaluation of your
manuscript? I’m your gal! I will read through your entire manuscript and provide thoughtful, in-depth feedback that can lead to significant changes to your manuscript.
I’ll review your manuscript from several perspectives:
Structure: Is the content organized in a logical and cohesive manner? Are the chapters roughly equivalent in length and scope? Does the manuscript include headings that guide the reader through the material?
Content: Is the manuscript complete? Does it provide all the information on the subject the reader needs, or are there “holes” in the material. Does it assume a certain knowledge base that some readers may lack? Is the focus clear or does it stray off topic? Are the arguments logically sound, and does the current manuscript include references to back up the argument or theory? Does it include anecdotal stories, if appropriate, to personalize the information?
Writing: Is the writing clear and accessible, or is it at times verbose and obscure? Does it contain redundancies? Does the writing style present the message in a way that readers will find interesting and engaging? Is the language and reading level
appropriate for the intended audience? Is the voice and tone consistent throughout?

Book Coaching/ Developmental Editing
Think of me as your very own personal trainer. I’ll whip that book right out of you and get you in tip top shape—if that is your desire. But seriously, many of us require accountability and direction when taking on something as big as writing a book. A book coach will help keep you on track and guide you as you move along the rocky road from idea to book publication.
Developmental editing is a thorough and in-depth review of your entire manuscript. It examines all the elements of your writing, from individual words and sentences to overall structure and style. Good developmental editing will bear your target audience in mind and assess your work in relation to industry standards and expectations. Only once your manuscript has been revised, reshaped, and developed will it be ready for a copy edit and proofread. Note: This is not a proofread or copyedit (a word by word edit). Instead, it is a high-level strategic analysis of your book getting it ready to be sold to the right market with the right voice at the right time.
Bonus: As we work together, I'll provide a detailed market analysis examining your competition and how your book compares. To enhance your credibility, I will provide research citations to back up your statements. During our weekly Zoom sessions, we dig deep into the content to ensure your book stands out from the crowd.
